Today I’m excited to be the guest at Courtney Giardina‘s blog.  We’re celebrating International Chick Lit Month with a fun post: a day in the life of Amelia Hargraves.

Amelia, who owns the real estate office in the village of Saffron Sweeting, is one of my favourite characters in my novel. She’s sharp, sassy and has bounced back from a painful divorce. She’s also the only person in the book with decent taste in shoes. Get the scoop on her day here.

Amelia’s a great character because she’s strong. You get a sense that she’s unapologetically interested in building her business which I think is refreshing. She’s not “only” in the story to help the main character – or she’d be a shallow character placed in the story for only one purpose. Amelia “is who she is” from the day the reader walks into her real estate office. Makes her very authentic.
