Continuing my collection of indie books which would make terrific gifts, I knew I couldn’t write this series without including one about food. At this time of year in particular, few of us would feel fully festive without some sweet treats on the table.
So today, I’m delighted to show you Tiramisu Recipes from Italian Friends and Family by Martina Munzittu. Painstakingly researched and absolutely genuine from cover to cover, know that these desserts are authentic versions of this classic dish, made by Italians who cook with love and take pride in their eating:
I’m a novice in the kitchen at best, but I had mouthwatering success with the Baileys Tiramisu and, for Christmas, am particularly looking forward to trying the Panettone Tiramisu recipe. (That is, if I don’t guzzle all the panettone first…)
1) When you feel overwhelmed, what’s your favorite trick to unwind?
I try to focus on my breathing, and check whether it’s coming from my chest or diaphragm. I count the breaths in and out, and remind myself that I am alive and all will be well.
2) What is one tradition you love about December?
Being in my warm home and looking out of the window to spot the morning frost in our garden.
3) What does 2017 hold for you?
I truly don’t know. I have stopped making plans for the future, as things always turn out different from what I had imagined. I let every day that comes inspire me on what to do next.
Thank you, Martina, for joining this collection of wonderful indie book gifts!
