Launch Party Photos

I’m clearly reaching the age where it takes me several days to recover from partying, as I’m only just getting around to sharing photos from the Saving Saffron Sweeting launch. The virtual party was Friday, and then some real live humans joined me on Saturday to celebrate.

Since I didn’t dare attempt full English afternoon tea for a crowd, we went with a chocolate tasting instead. Guests nibbled samples from nine different countries and I’m happy to say there were plenty of leftovers. Naturally, the party also featured prizes, favours and one rather excited author!

Pauline, I had such a wonderful time at your launch party! The chocolate tasting was so sweet (pun intended), the goody bags and prizes were so fun – but the best moments during the party (besides mingling with such a HUGE crowd) was hearing you read a passage from your beautiful book, Saving Saffron Sweeting.

You looked marvelous in your blue dress – even matched your decor which made the whole party feel so beautifully merchandised. How ever did you pull off such a wonderful book launch? Did you hire a publicist, decorator, party planner and/or Martha Stewart?

The dress is actually a dark teal but I was surprised how blue it looked in the photos. Yes, Martha said she’d be happy to plan the party for free, in return for a signed copy of the book. πŸ™‚

These are some lovely photos Pauline. I had originally assumed that your party was virtual, but you had some “real” goodies that could be touched and enjoyed. I love the idea of the chocolate tasting session. Something I might copy from you in the future πŸ™‚

Martina, I just updated the post… yes, Friday’s party was virtual, but then I grabbed some local friends on Saturday and made them listen to me reading from the book. Yes, do offer people chocolate, for some strange reason, it’s very popular!
