With the current serenity topic of building your overwhelm kit, it’s also worth reducing things from your life which are likely to contribute to stress instead of easing it.

The right friends can comfort, cheer and energize you. The wrong friends… not so much! You may not be able to eliminate them from your routine completely, but do take conscious steps to reduce the time you spend with them. Even just becoming aware of their effect on you can protect your serenity a little.

  • Whether or not your overwhelm kit is complete, this is a thoughtful guide to self-care for creatives.
  • Your feedback on items for your kit gave a big thumbs up to lavender. There are many items available online, including from Sonoma Lavender. I especially like the look of their heated blankies and stuffed animals. So regardless of your personal circumstances, you can get snuggly on the 14th!

    It is clear to me that I must reach out to my Church Sisters for support and friendship. My time lately has been wrapped up in toxic ‘family issues’ which has me totally stressed. I know there are ladies I see every Sunday that would be willing to spend a bit of time with me building a relationship. I left all my friends behind when we moved across country a few years ago.
