Sweet Pursuits releases a week tomorrow (January 26th), so here’s a word of thanks to the authors of two books which provided inspiration and were extremely helpful in my research.
The Wholesome Junk Food Cookbook by Laura Trice was given to me by a friend and offered wonderful inspiration for some of the tasty recipes which Bella tries out, as she begins her journey to enjoying healthy food. Chocolate Oatmeal Fudge, Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie and Coconut Breakfast Macaroons can all be found within its pages:
I stumbled across Magick Made Easy by Patricia Telesco while writing Sweet Pursuits and knew this could bring a fun layer of mystery to Bella’s exploits. I scoured this reference guide for magical foodie ingredients, and hopefully did a reasonable job of conveying the important principles of casting charms! Telesco has many other related titles, if this is an area you’d like to dabble in:
Naturally, I’m not giving anything away in terms of whether the Wholesome Junk Food or the Magick produced their intended consequences for Bella, but I hope you’ll read Sweet Pursuits and find out!
