Sweet Pursuits: Publication Day & Giveaway

I’m so excited to see Sweet Pursuits on sale today and to celebrate with a giveaway. This is the third novel in the Saffron Sweeting collection and early feedback suggests it’s the tastiest so far!

What’s the recipe for a second chance at love?

Sweet Pursuits, an Anglophile Romantic ComedyAfter six blissful years with scientist boyfriend Owen, Bella Beecham was convinced he was about to pop the question she’d been longing to hear. Instead, he accepted a prestigious job in California and left England without a backwards glance. Now, Owen’s back in the village of Saffron Sweeting, and appears to be more eligible than ever. Bella’s determined that the man of her dreams won’t slip through her fingers again.

But her plans to tone up, trim down, and tempt Owen back into her life prove bittersweet. Although Bella’s talent for baking wins her new friends, her tasty treats have a disconcerting tendency to sabotage her own intentions. And as her increasingly bold attempts to recapture Owen’s heart stumble, Bella must question whether she’s chasing a guy who wants to be caught.

A British romantic comedy featuring both familiar characters and fresh faces, Sweet Pursuits explores how a young woman seeking her soulmate must first learn to love herself.

        My pleasure, Pauline!

I decided to come back and enter the giveaway haha. I wasn’t going to because I’m not in the US but then I remembered the small print. My favourite sweet treat to eat while reading are M&Ms – preferably the ones with nuts.

I’m so glad you came back to enter and yes, although it’s prohibitively expensive to ship heavy boxes around the world, I promise I’ll find another way to treat you if you win!

P.S. Sweet treat to enjoy while reading? A cup of English Breakfast tea with two lumps of sugar. That’s right. TWO. Not one, but two. And while they’re not available year-round because she only makes them at Christmastime, my sister’s Cranberry Shortbread cookies are to die for. This year she added orange zest. The pops of orange were so vibrant next to the color of the cranberries. Soft but firm shortbread. Perfect for tea dunking.

I love the sound of those shortbreads. I sometimes buy cranberries flavoured with a bit of orange, and it’s a lovely additional tang. Maybe we could get the recipe from your sister?

Congratulations, Pauline, on the publication of your new book! Favorite sweet treat while reading? Depends on the time of day. After five, maybe a beautiful cocktail glass of something involving fruit and bitters. On a rainy morning, sometimes flowery tea (green with jasmine, herbal tea with rose petals, mint tea, black tea with bergamot). And in an ideal and perfect world, a pecan sticky bun from Noe Valley Bakery in San Francisco!

Margaret, thanks so much for stopping by. I also like to start the day with green tea & jasmine, although I admit I slide pretty fast into caffeinated varieties after that. And that sounds like a bakery I need to discover, too!

It must be simply joyous to have your third book released! Love, love, loved it, as I already told you but a good thing can never be praised too much 🙂

I love eating chocolate when I’m reading, oh who am I kidding… I love eating chocolate anytime!

Mmmmm, chai latte is right up my alley !!! Have you ever tried David Rio Chai latte mixes (my favorite currently is Elephant Vanilla) to make your own lattes? Major yum 🙂 link on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/David-Rio-Elephant-Vanilla-Ounce/dp/B000VYP4EM/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1485546869&sr=8-1&keywords=david%2Brio%2Belephant%2Bvanilla%2Bchai&th=1

Sorry, I don’t tweet so can’t enter from that venue.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Yes, I’m a big fan of chai latte. I didn’t know this kind of thing was on Amazon but there’s a cafe near here which offer the three flavours of chai which match with David Rio’s products, so I think I might have tried elephant. Great tip for what should go in your goodie box if you win!

I really love anything pepperminty but my favourite are aniseed lollies. I never get sick of enjoying them while reading a good book 🙂

How cool! I loved aniseed flavours as a kid but it’s at least 30 years since I indulged!
